Our Story...
The 1930’s quilt that started it all, made by members of the Calico Club in Mexico, NY.

Past meets present. CTQ modern version of crazy quilt that inspired our formation. Pieced by Primrose McVay, back signed by community members, quilted by Annette Swartz, raffled at Quilt Fest 2023.
About Us...
We are a North Country community-building organization sharing the history and evolving art of quilting through creative projects, interactive educational programming, and special events.
We:
-
Operate as a committee under the Wanakena Historical Association (WHA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
-
Focus on Outreach Projects that involve local residents/organizations in collaborative creative activities. Examples of large scale outreach projects we coordinate include the Two Towns Story Project and Common Thread Quilt Fest.
-
Partner with SOS (The Old Schoolhouse/Adirondack Exhibit Center) to bring additional arts and cultural opportunities to the Clifton-Fine
-
Established, and provide ongoing support for, an Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Fund benefiting the greater Clifton-Fine community.
-
Are giving a great big shout out to the Singer Sewing Machine Company for their donation of 20 sewing machines to our program. We couldn't do what we do without their support!
